NFL Picks | Houston Texans @ Jacksonville Jaguars

In the AFC South clash, the Houston Texans will face the Jacksonville Jaguars this Sunday. The Jaguars are a year or two ahead of the Texans in their development, but Houston has certainly found a franchise QB in C.J. Stroud.

The Jaguars found theirs a bit earlier, but Trevor Lawrence may have had some sand in his gears to start the season. Against the Chiefs last weekend, he completed just 22 of his 41 passes and failed to score a touchdown.

While the defense kept the Jaguars in the game until the end, this time it was the offense around Lawrence that wasn’t really clicking yet. Even Etienne only managed 40 yards. Considering that there is also Ridley or Kirk for the offense, it is probably only a matter of time until everything fits together. One way to do it better is this Sunday at home against the winless Texans.

Although they drafted a playmaker for the offense as well as for the defense, you couldn’t expect the Texans to play everything to the ground all of a sudden. While at the beginning of the season almost nothing went right, they at least showed their fighting spirit against the Colts. Especially in the 2nd half, they didn’t just let themselves get slaughtered, but fought to the end.

What stands out so far is that RB Pierce is still far from his form from last season, which doesn’t make it any easier for the rookie Stroud. Stroud still managed 384 yards.

Houston is all about seeing development under their new head coach, they were not expected to qualify for the playoffs right away.

Nevertheless, the winner of this match up is quickly determined for us. The Jaguars are better at almost all positions. We also think the offense will show a different face this weekend. The Texans will probably keep the game open for some time, but in the end the favorite will pull away.

Our pick for Houston Texans @ Jacksonville Jaguars is a win from Jacksonville!
